Kenneth Wegner was born in Long Beach, CA. After graduating from high school he joined the U.S. Army in the 1970’s. He graduated from the Field Artillery and Nuclear, Biological & Chemical Schools during his honorable military career. Ken retired when his military career was ended after receiving serious wounds in Desert Storm.
After retiring, Ken made Las Vegas his home. Ken has owned and operated three successful businesses where he learned to balance the books, make payroll, and succeed. Ken learned how to create jobs and how the tax code and government regulation impacts job creation.
Ken is committed to restoring America's greatness and working toward a bright future for Nevadan families. Ken is the proud father of three children. His oldest son Brandon is serving as an MP in the U.S. Army has recently returned from 15 months in Iraq. His oldest daughter Katie is attending UNLV, and his youngest daughter Brittney is taking college courses while attending high school. He loves his children and enjoys sharing their triumphs and helping them learn lessons from adversity.
As a veteran Ken volunteers time and donates resources to helping our military succeed. He understands how difficult it is for our military men and women to leave the battle fields of war and within hours after returning home and assimilate right back into society. Recognizing our governments failure to aid and assist in these warriors transition and cope with life off the battle field, Ken actively works to assist with this transition as combat veterans return to civilian life. He also volunteers tirelessly to organize troop care package programs, and has personally sent over 10,000 packages in 2009.

When it was popular, Congress voted to send our troops to war and as the fight continues Congress's will to win and responsibility to support has waned resulting in failures to provide our troops with the equipment necessary for victory. As a private citizen, Ken has acted by sending much needed field equipment to support soldiers putting their lives on the line to preserve American freedoms.
When he began his military career Ken sworn an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies both foreign and domestic. Although he has hung up his military uniform, he believes that his sworn duty has not expired. Ken has fought foreign threats to our constitution and freedoms on the battlefields of the Middle East, and now is running for Congress to fight the domestic threats to our freedoms and liberties that exist in the halls of Congress.
Ken is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a nominee for Nevada's First Congressional District in 2006 and 2008.
